Troubled Water

p911ca

I started this blog to share some facts, thoughts, and life skills I learn daily as a mobile detailing company. Excuse any grammatical errors. I proofread but these dim eyes sometimes don’t catch everything, besides it adds a little flair, character, and humanity to the blog. So enjoy the ride and I hope to inspire you in some way. Let’s get into it.

The first topic to get into is water. What water should I use to detail my luxury automobile or what water is best for general auto detailing? Most believe pulling out your basic garden hose and proceeding to drench your vehicle with what is known as general “tap water” is fine. After all, we used to drink out of these same garden hoses as children. I’m still trying to process that as drinking out of a garden hose on a long hot day as a child was refreshing and led to immediate hydration. I digress, let’s just agree times have changed, and “tap water” has gotten exponentially worst. For what it’s worth using tap water in the auto detailing process is not the best idea, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. We’ve all been there. Some homes have purification systems hooked up to all their water supply, so that’s ideal.

Tap water also known as drinking water is iodized water. Tap water has harsh minerals and other chemical elements that can leave hard white water spots and tarnish the paint over a period of time. Sometimes the damage comes sooner than later. Professional mobile detailing companies will use deionized water as it offers better vehicle protection. This water is stripped of all the harsh chemicals and minerals, leaving your vehicle with a nice clean finish. Adding a hand wax, buff wax, or ceramic coating to your vehicle will leave you with sparkling results and added vehicle protection. Here at Yeshayah Luxury Detail we only use deionized water.
